Latest News: The Public Inquiry closed on 17th April, 2009. The Planning Application was to be determined on 25th May, 2009, but determination is now expected in early July 2009. The closing submission by BCBP can be found by following this link to Public Enquiry Docs. Rural Economy Bishop's Castle farming, forestry, wood industry and service companies are working in partnership towards investment into a biomass fuel power plant on the Bishop's Castle Industrial Estate. Sustainable Energy It is intended that the plant will generate power and heat from wood chip and energy crops to provide sustainable energy in support of the local economy. Community Consultation Bishop's Castle Biomass Power Project has produced this web site to consult with the community, Bishop's Castle Council, South Shropshire District Council, the local schools and industry.
